Change Batteries on smoke & carbon monoxide detectors, Make sure to take inventory of how many batteries you need. If you are unsure if you have enough smoke detectors here is an article for some additional information to determine if you have enough detectors or if you should purchase a few more. Consumer reports

“You’ll need smoke detectors that detect flaming and smoldering fires for each bedroom, one outside each sleeping area, and at least one detector installed on each floor, including in a finished attic and in the basement. You should also have a carbon monoxide detector on each living level, outside each sleeping area, in the basement, and near (not inside) an attached garage.”

 

Check gutters and roofs for ice dams and Icicles to remove excess snow.

Change Furnace Filters –

To look for the correct size look on the side of the furnace filter and snap a picture of it for the next time you go to the hardware store. If you cant read the side of the furnace filter check your inspection report if you have one and see if you can find the size on the report.
